Asian Crack Slaw
When I found this recipe I knew it went right along with the diet Hubby and I are following! It was Friday and on Friday we are allowed beef and we are always allowed cabbage and in this case it was in the form of Cole Slaw Mix! All the spices we want and the brown sugar was just something I added and it will be OK since we are doing so good on this diet! Gotta have a little spice in life!
OMGoodness this stuff is delicious and I see why it's called "crack" because it's addicting! Hubby and I ate the entire skillet but then again we are starving or just hungry!
Trust me that this isn't just food for watching your weight but food for anytime that you want to impress! It is done in minutes and the taste is out of this world good! The sauce is amazing and the crunch of the Cole Slaw Mix mixed with the amazing sauce and tasty ground beef made for a perfect meal! Definitely will be making this again and again!
Recipe adapted from allrecipes
SAUCE
2 teaspoons Sriracha Hot Sauce
2 teaspoons rice vinegar
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
6 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 Tablespoons brown sugar
garlic powder, to taste
cracked black pepper, to taste
ground ginger, to taste
crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
1¼ pound ground beef, brown and drain
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
½ cup bell pepper, I used a mixture of red, orange and yellow, diced
2 individual stalks green onion, white & green parts diced
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (14 ounce) bag Cole Slaw Mix With Carrots
In a bowl mix all sauce ingredients. Set aside.
In a skillet crumble and brown ground beef. Drain.
Wipe out skillet, add Olive oil and heat skillet.
Add bell pepper, green onions and minced garlic. Sauté on medium high heat 4 minutes.
Lower heat to medium and return beef to skillet with veggies. Mix well.
Add Cole Slaw Mix and mix well. Add sauce, mix well and cook 3 minutes for a crunchier Cole Slaw and cook longer if you want less crunch.
Serve.
