Crunchy Onion & Chicken Noodle Casserole
Super good! Your taste buds will enjoy this recipe! No matter what the recipe is, when it calls for Cream Of Chicken Soup it always adds a richness to the recipe and this was no different! The chicken and noodles soaked the soup up and it was perfect! I used to always cook with egg noodles and it seemed like I got away from it as new pasta came into play but we love egg noodles!
French Fried Onions is another thing we love and they took this recipe to top notch! Both inside the recipe and as a topper it was fantastic! Another good thing about this recipe is that you can add whatever your favorite veggies are! I bought the small 8 ounce cans of corn and green beans but I'm betting peas and carrots would be awesome!
Great casserole! Yum!
Recipe adapted from AUNT BEE'S RECIPES
2 cups egg noodles, cooked & drained
1½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, seasoned, cooked and diced
1 (10¾ ounce) can Cream of Chicken Soup
1¼ cups Milk
2 cups French’s Original French Fried Onions, divided
1 cup corn or veggie of your choice
1 cup green beans or veggie of your choice
1½ cups Shredded Cheese, divided
Preheat oven to 350°
Dice and season chicken. I used Lawry's Seasoned Salt. In a sprayed skillet cook chicken until no longer pink and juices run clear.
Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain.
Combine cooked chicken, soup, milk, 1 cup french fried onions, veggies, prepared noodles and ½ cup cheese and pour into a 9x13 baking dish.
Bake covered 30 minutes.
Combine the other 1 cup of french fried onions and 1 cup of cheese. Top casserole with cheddar cheese and french fried onion mixture.
Bake 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.
