Baked Chicken Parm Burger
These were crazy good and healthy with very little carbs if you don't make pasta or serve on a bun! There is no breading on these but they sure taste a little crunchy and they were amazing! Baking them until golden brown is the ticket to success! Your taste buds will thank you and so will your tummy!
Italian flair all the way around! You could probably use any spices you want but the ones I used were perfect along with our favorite marinara and both cheeses made for a delicious Chicken Parm Burger! I could eat these type burgers all the time!
Makes 2 Burgers
½ pound ground chicken
1 egg
salt & pepper, to taste
basil, oregano, minced garlic and onion powder, to taste
¾ cup Italian bread crumbs, add more if mixture is to wet to form patties
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup marinara, pizza or spaghetti sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
cooked pasta if desired
Preheat oven to 425°
In a bowl mix ground chicken, egg, spices, bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese. Form into 2 patties and they will be on the larger side. Add more bread crumbs if needed to make patties form better.
Freeze patties 10 minutes.
Remove from freezer and place on a foiled baking sheet and bake 30 minutes or until golden brown and they are done in the center. You want them golden brown.
Remove from oven and top with marinara sauce between both patties. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese between both patties. Sprinkle with basil and oregano.
Return to oven 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted.
Serve over pasta if desired or on a bun.
