Chicken Lazone
I was curious what Lazone meant so I googled it and found nothing related to food but I did find one reference to being lazy so I'm guessing this is a good recipe to make when you're feeling lazy because it is so simple to make and doesn't take much time! I also found that it is a dish served at a restaurant in New Orleans called Brennan's!
Seeing this recipe all over Pinterest I knew I had to make it! It looked delicious and I love recipes that use heavy cream and I had some on hand! There is a slight kick to the heat but you can control that with the amount of spices you use! It was the perfect amount for our taste buds! The creamy sauce is amazing over the juicy chicken! Loved this dish!
Recipe adapted from WISHES & DISHES wishesndishes.com/chicken-lazone/
1 teaspoon salt
1½ teaspoons chili powder
1½ teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoons garlic powder
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper, or more to taste
½ cup butter, divided
2 pounds chicken tenders or boneless, skinless breasts
2 cups heavy cream
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked & drained
Combine all of the seasonings, setting aside 1 teaspoon and coat chicken on both sides with the rest.
In a large skillet melt half of the butter over medium-high heat and then add the chicken and cook for about 7 to 8 minutes, turning once, or until done.
Pour the cream into the skillet and lower the heat. Add the remaining teaspoon of spices. Mix well.
Simmer for several minutes, stirring until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes, then add the remaining butter. Continue simmering 10-15 minutes, until thick and creamy. Add more salt or garlic powder if needed.
During the simmering time, in another pot, boil spaghetti noodles and drain.
To serve, place spaghetti on plate, top with chicken and sauce.
