White Castle Cheeseburger PieWe have a White Castle restaurant about ½ mile from us! I can get a White Castle whenever my heart desires but you need to have the craving for them! I thought this recipe would be fun to make just to compare it to an original White Castle! It was very good and the taste slightly resembled a White Castle without the pickle and bun! You can't go wrong when dry onion soup is involved! I would go ahead and season your beef with salt and pepper as called for because it needed it! I held off because I didn't want it to be salty but it wasn't salty! I added the salt to the servings as I plated them! Recipe comes from Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes! Great blog with lots of low carb recipes! www.genaw.com/lowcarb/white_castle_hamburger_pie.html1 pound ground beef, brown and drain 1 packet dry onion soup mix, divided 2 eggs 1/3 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup heavy cream 8 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded Salt and pepper, to taste Preheat oven to 350° Brown the hamburger, sprinkled with 2 tablespoons dry onion soup. Drain. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Stir in the remaining soup mix and put the meat in a sprayed 9-10 inch pie plate. Stir in half of the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, mayonnaise, cream and a dash of pepper. Pour evenly over the meat. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
