Pizza Stuffed Shells
My newest recipe on vacation! As long as I've been cooking I've never made Stuffed Shells but they have been on my to do list! What took so long? They are delicious! The taste of pizza in a shell which was perfect for the ocean front vacation in Daytona Beach Florida! I always thought stuffing a shell would be complicated but it was very simple! The shell opens up nicely after being cooked! Just drop the meat mixture in with a tablespoon and you've got a stuffed shell!
The smell coming from our condo was very inviting to the neighbors! They wondered what the heck I was making! There are so many different ways to make stuffed shells and I'm going to try the Taco Stuffed Shells next!
5 Stars!
1 pound ground beef, cooked & drained
1 Tablespoon minced garlic
4 ounces pepperoni slices, cut into quarters
3 cups pizza sauce
17-20 jumbo pasta shells, boiled & drained
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Preheat oven to 375°
In a skillet brown grown beef with minced garlic. Drain.
Return to skillet and stir in half of the quartered pepperoni slices, 1 cup of the pizza sauce and ¾ cup of cheese. Cook 5 minutes or until mixture is thoroughly heated. Remove from heat.
In a pot, boil jumbo shells 8-9 minutes and drain. You don't want the shells to get to soft. Rinse in cold water.
Stuff each cooked shell with 2 tablespoons beef mixture. In a sprayed 9x13 baking dish place in a single layer. Cover shells with remaining 2 cups pizza sauce, remaining shredded cheese and the remaining half of the pepperoni.
Bake 15-20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
