Crunchy Chili Cheese Wrap
If you aren't from around the Cincinnati area you may not know what Cincinnati Style Chili is! Well it is a thin chili and while served in many local restaurants, it is most often associated with the over 250 "chili parlors", restaurants specializing in Cincinnati chili, found throughout greater Cincinnati with franchise locations throughout Ohio and in Kentucky, Indiana, and Florida. Each year, Cincinnatians eat over 2 million pounds of Cincinnati chili topped by nearly a million pounds of cheese. The dish is the area's best-known regional food.
Our local Gold Star is now serving "Goritos" which is what I cloned here with this recipe! We ate a Gorito at Gold Star and I told hubby that it would be the easiest thing to clone at home and I was right! One of the simplest things I've ever made! Done in minutes and it is soooooo good! A good meal, snack or just for whenever the mood hits you!
The crunchy corn chips adds the perfect saltiness and crunch to the cheesy chili all wrapped up in a soft flour tortilla! No mess to clean up when you have these!
Makes 4
1 cup Cincinnati Style Chili (Skyline, Gold Star, Dixie), divided
1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
1 cup Frito Corn Chips, broken and divided
4 flour tortilla's, fajita size
Heat chili.
Wrap tortilla's in a damp paper towel and microwave 15-20 seconds. You just want to steam them.
Remove from microwave and to each tortilla spread chili in the middle, top with cheese and then broken Frito's.
Wrap or roll tortilla up.
Serve.
