Tuna Melt PaniniI sure am putting my new panini press to good use! I love it! We love tuna melts so why not make it a panini? The only way it could of been better, add a few slices of bacon! I made my recipe for tuna salad and it was delicious as a melt! Nice crunchy rye bread with ooey, gooey cheese and tasty tuna salad made for one happy panini! The way to go with these, use a thinner piece of bread and not so "bready" bread! I found some deli style rye at Kroger which is just a tad bit smaller than regular bread but a lot thinner! Perfect! If you like tuna salad you will love these! Yummy! 2 (5 ounce) cans Chunk Light Tuna In Water, drained 1 hard boiled egg, peeled and diced 6 midget sweet pickles, diced 1/3 cup Miracle Whip (or mayo) butter deli style rye bread cheddar cheese slices Mix first 4 ingredients well. Refrigerate 1 hour or until chilled. Heat panini press. Butter one side of each piece of bread. Spread tuna onto un-buttered side of bread. Top with a cheese slice. Place another piece of bread on top of cheese, buttered side out. Place on panini press and grill 3 minutes or until desired crispiness and cheese is melted. Makes 4 sandwiches using the deli style rye bread.
