Pretzel Bacon Grilled Cheese
Oh Boy, I did it this time! What a delicious grilled cheese! My family loves me so much! They were in heaven eating these and thanking me! Bacon and grilled cheese is good as is but add it to a pretzel, GENIUS! Everything shined thru this gem of a grilled cheese and the pretzel was fantastic! Soft and a buttery crunch all in one!
When I started slicing the pretzel, I thought this is going to be complicated keeping the pretzel in tact because I started slicing the 1st one thru the bottom and it wasn't working right! OK, the next one I started slicing thru the top and it was perfect! Slow and steady is the name of this game! Worked like a charm!
Thanks to Noble Pig noblepig.com/2013/01/bacon-pretzel-grilled-cheese/ for the creative idea on this!
4 original size frozen pretzels, thawed and sliced starting from top of pretzel
12 slices bacon, cooked and drained
4 slices colby jack cheese or your cheese of choice
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
Pam spray
Cook bacon and drain.
Slice thawed pretzels. I found it easier to start at the top of the pretzel.
Place bacon on the bottom half of the pretzel slices. Top with cheese and pretzel tops.
Spray nonstick skillet or griddle and melt butter. Add assembled pretzels and warm until cheese is melted, flipping after 1-2 minutes, not long, you don't want the pretzel to burn.
Remove from heat and sprinkle salt on the top of pretzels. The salt will come in your package of pretzels and pretzel salt is strong and chunky so just a little is best. The melted butter on the pretzel will keep the salt sticking to the pretzel.
