Italian Style Chicken CheeseburgersMy hubby grilled these tonight and they are delicious! The recipe calls for ground turkey but I bought the ground chicken because it was on sale! The only different thing I did was, use fresh arugula lettuce instead of basil and spinach and I used a half of a packet of the Italian seasoning mix because I used 2 pounds of chicken instead of one. Cooking Spray for the grill 1 package (20 ounces) Ground Turkey (I used ground Chicken) 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1 teaspoon garlic salt 5 slices (5 ounces) provolone or mozzarella cheese 10 slices Italian or sourdough bread, 5 inches wide or hamburger buns 5 teaspoons Italian dressing 1 cup fresh spinach leaves 1/4 cup thinly sliced fresh basil 3 plum tomatoes, sliced Spray cold grate of outdoor grill with grilling spray. Prepare grill for medium heat. Mix turkey, Italian seasoning and garlic salt in medium bowl until combined. Shape into 5 (1/2-inch-thick) patties. Grill 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until patties are no longer pink in the center and meat thermometer inserted in centers reaches 165°F. Top each patty with cheese slice during last minute of grilling. Spread each bread slice or each inner side of bun with 1/2 teaspoon dressing. Toast on grill, if desired. Top 5 bread slices or bun halves, dressing side up, evenly with spinach, basil and tomatoes. Place turkey on tomatoes and cover with remaining bread slices or bun halves, dressing side down.
