Overnight Sweet Marinade ChickenWe loved this marinade! It wasn't to sweet at all, just right! I'm thinking that making a 2nd batch of marinade for basting chicken on the grill would be delicious! We just wanted more marinade! I am also thinking that this would be a great marinade for the smaller chicken wings and drumettes! All the ingredients were gelling together like 2 peas in a pod! Sweetness from the brown sugar and lemon juice, spiciness from the brown mustard and the boost from the apple cider vinegar were spot on! Perfect! This marinade also gave the chicken a really nice color! Recipe adapted from BOMBSHELL BLING www.bombshellbling.com/mamas-sweet-marinade-chicken/½ cup packed brown sugar 6 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil 4 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 Tablespoons minced garlic 2 Tablespoons spicy brown mustard 4 Tablespoons lemon juice salt & pepper, to taste 10-12 chicken drumsticks In a bowl, mix all ingredients except chicken. Place chicken in a large Ziploc Bag or use 2 large Ziploc Bags if needed. You can also use a large baking dish. Pour marinade over chicken and refrigerate overnight. Cover if using a baking dish. Heat the grill to medium high. Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade. Place the drumsticks on the grill and grill with the lid closed, rotating about every 8-10 minutes. Grill and rotate for 1 hour or until juices run clear or internal temp reaches 175°. Serve.
