Grilled Chicken Parm Burgers
Very tasty burger but mixed emotions about it! It was a texture thing to me and hubby! The word I'm going to use for the inside of the burger was "mushy" but I don't mean real mushy! I mean it wasn't the texture of a beef burger! The chicken burger was loaded with flavor and the flavor was delicious! After a few bites, we took it off the bun, onto a plate with some marinara for dipping and it was still OK! A few hours later we had 1 burger leftover and I tried a piece and it wasn't mushy anymore! Go figure! It was really good after a few hours!
If you like chicken burgers you will love this because the ingredients make for one very tasty burger!
I found this recipe at my local grocery store!
1 pound ground chicken
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (from green container)
1/4 cup Italian bread crumbs
1/4 cup marinara sauce, plus more for topping cooked burgers
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon dry Italian salad dressing seasoning mix
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, or more to taste
Hamburger buns
In a large bowl, combine chicken, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup marinara, onion, garlic and spices. Mix well. Form into patties, creating a slight dent in the center of each patty. Freeze about 15-20 minutes.
Wipe grill grates with non-stick cooking spray. Grill over medium-high heat, 6-8 minutes per side or until inside chicken is done. Top cooked chicken burgers with mozzarella cheese. Grill until cheese melts.
Spray the insides of each bun with spray butter and grill until lightly toasted. Remove from grill and spread remaining marinara sauce on toasted buns and top with cooked chicken burgers.
Serve.
