I love lasagna so finding this Taco Lasagna was awesome! Great Mexican flair! Very filling!
So ooey-gooey creamy cheesy and the Pico de Gallo shinned throughout the dish! I love making my own Pico and the link to mine is below or you can make your own or buy some already made! House smelled amazing! Great dinner!
1½ pounds ground beef or turkey 1 packet taco seasoning 1 cup water Pico de Gallo Link To My Homemade Pico or store bought 4 Tablespoons butter 2 cups heavy cream Cayenne Pepper, to taste salt & pepper, to taste 3 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese 1 package taco size flour tortillas
Preheat oven to 400°
In a skillet brown and crumble meat. Drain.
Return to skillet and add taco seasoning and water. Boil 4 minutes. Lower heat and simmer until liquid is absorbed.
In a separate pot make the cheese. Melt the butter and whisk in heavy cream. Season with Cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Stir or whisk in 2 cups cheese until well blended.
In a sprayed 9x13 baking dish layer enough tortilla to cover bottom and then add 1/3 taco meat, 1/3 cheese sauce and then sprinkle with Pico de Gallo.
