Tater Tot Casserole
Hubby loves tater tots and he thinks Frisch's has the best and he orders them well done so when I found this recipe on Pinterest I knew that I was making it! I was glad that I did! We love it! I've never made Shephard's Pie so this is the first "potato topped" dish that I've ever made! It will be on the menu again soon!
Love how the tater tots had a nice crunch to them on the outside and soft on the inside! I made sure to bake them that long! There is something about ground beef mixed with green beans and corn that is so good! The seasonings were perfect for this recipe!
Recipe adapted from TORNADOUGH
1 pound ground beef, cooked and drained
1 (10 ounce) can cream of chicken soup (recipe calls for cream of mushroom but we don't like mushroom)
1 (15 ounce) can green beans, drained
1 (15 ounce) can corn, drained
½ cup milk
½ cup sour cream
salt and pepper, to taste
onion powder, to taste
garlic powder, to taste
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 (2 pound) bag tater tots or tater crowns
Preheat oven to 350°
Brown ground beef until no longer pink. Drain.
In bowl mix together soup, green beans, corn, milk, sour cream and seasonings and mix well.
In a sprayed 9x13 baking dish add your ground beef, top with your soup mixture.
Sprinkle cheese and then top with tater tots in single layers. I saved ½ cup of cheese to sprinkle on top of tater tots.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until tater tots are golden.
Let cool slightly before serving so the soup mixture can thicken up slightly.
