Easy Stovetop Mac & Cheese
I love Jen's Blog, Cincy Shopper! It is local and she has the best recipes! Jen gave a great tip about using Sharp Cheddar as it has less grease than your traditional cheddar cheese! My tip would be is to shred your own cheese from a block instead of the bagged stuff! Much more tastier!
This recipe is easy and fast to make! No baking! Creamy too!
Everyone loves Mac & Cheese and this is perfect for those busy days!
Recipe from CINCY SHOPPER
1½ cups uncooked Elbow Macaroni, try to get the elbows with the ridges
2 Tablespoons butter
2 Tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1½ cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredding your own is best
Salt and pepper, to taste
Boil macaroni until tender. Drain.
Melt butter in pan and add flour. Cook over low heat for about 2 minutes stirring constantly to make a roux. Gradually add in a milk, whisking until smooth. Cook for about 2 minutes, whisking constantly until you reach desired consistency.
Add in shredded cheddar cheese and stir until the melted and smooth.
Add drained macaroni to sauce and stir until coated.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve.
