New York Style Pizza BurgersThey serve these burgers in a restaurant in New York and I can see why! They were delicious! I put a little spin on them by adding Italian Seasoning and Red pepper Flakes and boy did it make for one good burger! You could get a hint of the red pepper flakes throughout but it was not over powering or to spicy! There is nothing like real mozzarella cheese! We buy the sliced but they also sell the little balls of it! The real stuff makes any recipe 100 times better! A slight nutty flavor along with the pasta sauce and this burger can't be beat! Original recipe can be found HERE1 pound ground sirloin 1 envelope onion soup mix or onion mushroom soup mix 1 teaspoon dry Italian Dressing Seasoning Mix 1/2 teaspoon oregano pinch of red pepper flakes, or to taste 2 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 cup pizza sauce 4 slices real mozzarella cheese 4 brioche buns In a medium bowl, gently mix sirloin, onion soup mix, dry Italian seasoning, oregano, red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese. Shape into four patties. Grill over medium heat 13-15 minutes, about 7-8 minutes per side, or to desired doneness. When burgers are about 5 minutes from being cooked to desired doneness, add pizza sauce to each burger. Place a slice of cheese on each. Add buns to grill and toast inside of buns if desired. Continue cooking for the final minutes until sauce is warmed and cheese is melted.
